The people who keep the town running

When the power goes out, the electrician comes; when there's a fire, firefighters race in. Community helpers — teachers, nurses, mail carriers — are the web of jobs that quietly keep a town working every single day.

Everyone has a job to do

A community is full of helpers who each do an important job. Firefighters keep us safe from fires, doctors and nurses help us stay healthy, teachers help us learn, and farmers grow our food. When everyone does their part, the whole community works.

Helpers meet needs

Each helper takes care of a need. We need to be safe, healthy, fed, and taught — so we have firefighters, doctors, farmers, and teachers.

🚒 firefighter → safety, 👩‍⚕️ doctor → health, 👨‍🌾 farmer → food.
