Start on any white key and step up the right pattern of keys and you'll hear 'do-re-mi-fa-sol' — the major scale that opens a thousand songs. The keyboard lays music out visually so you can see the pattern your ear knows.
Do, re, mi on the keys
The white keys repeat the pattern C D E F G A B. Played in order from C, they sound the C-major scale — the familiar 'do re mi fa sol la ti'. Pitch rises as you move right.
Tap the keys to play the C-major scale
Tap the keys left to right to play the C-major scale, then jump around to hear the pitches change.
- Press the keys from C to B in order.
- Listen to the pitch rise step by step.
- Press C again, then jump to G — hear the bigger leap.
What you should see: Left to right the pitch rises; C up to the next note is a step, while C to G is a larger interval.
